The Donna High School T-STEM Academy conducted a canned food and home goods drive.  The idea to start the food drive was initiated by one of our very motivated 9th grade students, Manuel Estrella.  Manuel was encouraged to initiate the idea of this drive because he has volunteered some of his time there and recognizes the work that they do and that they are a non-profit organization.  The Comfort House provides palliative care for patients that that have 4 months or less of life to live.  Donna High School T-STEM conducted a 3 week canned and home goods food drive for the Comfort House.  Our Academy collected over 430 items for the Comfort House that included canned goods, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, bottled water and other necessities.  Mr. Juventino Gomez and Mr. Adrian De Hoyos made delivery of the donations to the Comfort House this afternoon.  Members of the organization were very grateful for the donations and were so inspired that the event was initiated by one of our very own students.  We would like to thank our Academy students and community for their donations of these goods for such a great cause!

On October 15, 2019, our freshman students took a half day trip to South Texas College.  Our students had an opportunity to take a tour of the campus, attend informational sessions, and complete their Apply Texas Application.

On October 7th, 2019 STC met with our 11th grade students for advisement.

A representative from the International Museum of Arts and Sciences visited one of our Biology classrooms to present a lesson on adaptations.  As part of the presentation, the representative brought along a Leopard Gecko to discuss its adaptations in the Middle East.
